About Le Pontet
Set on the edge of the village of Montcuq in the pretty countryside of the Lot, Le Pontet (the Millhouse) provides 4 bedroom accommodation and a private swimming pool. Set in beautiful gardens, this spacious French millhouse is built of classic Quercy white stone, dating back to 1700s. The house and pool enjoy stunning country views as well as views of the town itself and its church spires and castle keep tower, all just a short stroll away.
The villa
Dining areas
Eat inside next to the well equipped kitchen, or outside on the beautiful, covered terrace to enjoy al fresco dinners and the countryside and town views. Or pool side serviced by the summer kitchen.
Garden
Laid mainly to lawn the garden wraps around the house and pool with apple, quince and walnut trees. A small stream meanders along the edge of the garden.
Bedrooms
There are four bedrooms - one double with ensuite on the ground floor; one double, one twin and one small bunk bed room on the upstairs floor, sharing a family bathroom. There is also a sofa bed downstairs.
Pool
A lovely pool with steps into the shallow end and a slope to the deep end is a tonic to the long summer days and evenings.
Local shopping
The town gives a choice of boulangeries, a charcuterie, a butcher and various cafes and restaurants. The Sunday market is a must to buy fresh produce as is the smaller Thursday market for local producers.

THINGS TO DO
Lac de Saint-Sernin, Montcuq
There is a large swimming lake nearby, a few kilometres by car, with sandy beach, lawns, play area and a large inflatable obstacle course (8 euros per person). Plus a restaurant and icecream kiosk.
The Lot
The river is 30 minutes drive and offers kayaking, paddle boarding and fresh water swimming
Lauzerte
The Bastide town - designated as one of “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France" – The Most Beautiful Villages in France is 8km away. It has a weekly evening market - well worth a visit.
Walking to Santiago de Compostela
The pilgrim's route passes right outside the house - and a small path just opposite to the right takes you up to the top of the ridge for miles of walking.
Cahors
The historic city of Cahors with its historic bridge is 30 minutes by car. A lively, bustling town with a Thursday morning market - and a huge choice of restaurants, cafes and shops.
Vineyards
You don't have to drive far to find vineyards. Famous for its merlot grapes the vineyards of Cahors are many and beautiful.

Prices
Prices are per week - Saturday to Saturday - to rent the whole villa and pool. Sleeps eight.
July and August - 1500 euros
